BACKGROUND
The name of Harun Aminurrashid College is taken after the name of a prominent Malay writer, Harun Aminurrashid. HARUN AMINURRASHID is also known by his pen names Har, Gustam Negara and Atma Jiwa; he was born in Singapore on 8 August 1907 in Kampung Teluk Kurau. Harun began his schooling at Telok Kurau Malay School; then at Sultan Idris Training College in Tanjung Malim, Perak, at the age of about seventeen. After completing his studies at the college, he became a teacher at the same college. In 1939, he was sent to Brunei as ‘Director of Education’ until 1945. After World War II (1946), he was sent back to Singapore. Harun also used the name Si Ketuit for a corner column in the magazines Warta Jenaka and Hiboran. Harun died on 9.11.1986. Harun‘s first novel was Melur Kuala Lumpur, which was published in April 1930 in Tanjung Malim.

Dr. Sani Araby Al-Kahery, whose real name is Ahmad Sani Araby Bin Dato’ Abdul Alim Araby, is a successful corporate figure who built a business company. He is also very active in humanitarian and community work both within and outside the country. Born in Penang on July 4, 1984, he is the third of four siblings. Born into a mixed Arab-Malay family, he is better known as Sani Araby Al-Kahery in the media and social media. He received his basic teacher training at Sultan Abdul Halim Teachers’ College (MPSAH) and later pursued a Bachelor of Education with Honors in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) at Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI). He upholds the principle of “Pioneering & Versatility” in his leadership and community involvement. He believes that everything he does should be carried out to a high-impact standard, prioritizing effective strategies, minimizing costs and effort, and providing significant benefits with a multiple-effect impact.
